Men in Kilts
Another year of seeing a bunch of guys in kilts has come to an end. The Scottish Irish Festival in Estes Park was fun, even though it rained most of the time. We went to our first Scotch whisky tasting seminar. What can I say about it except for that it tastes just like it smells, YUCKY! I didn't know that you are supposed to add water to it to get the full taste and smell. Hmm, the things you learn from a bunch of tipsy people. I would take the obligatory sip and then pass it on to Michael.
We went to watch the Marine Corps Band and the bagpipes on Friday night. Here are some photos of it. They are a little dark because I didn't want to take the time to mess with the setting on my camera. It was raining and I was trying to keep it from getting wet. I could tweak them in Photoshop, but I don't wanna right now.

On Saturday night we went to the Colorado Celtic Concert. We saw Seven Nations, and Brother. We have seen Seven Nations before, they are okay. Brother was new to us but they have been to Estes before for this festival . There were a few songs that I liked, and I have to admit this is the first time I have ever heard a bagpipe used in a rock type song. It wasn't too bad either. I think Saturday was the one day that it didn't rain too bad, so I took photos at the festival. Here are a few.
I love going to Estes and I am already eager for next year's festival. Now if I could just find time to go to Scotland for vacation then life would be complete. ;-)

AWESOME bagpipe photos!! I think Pat has a CD with a rock band using bagpipes somewhere...I remember it sounding kinda cool.
