Cathie and Vanessa did an awesome job with everything and the cake was super adorable. I'm not sure where they bought the cake, but they were able to find little farm animals to put on the sections. It was super cute and fit right in with her farm theme.

DD was in charge of photos and video and sadly, she didn't do a very good job. There aren't that many decent photos that she took and she didn't video tape it at all. Suffice it to say, I was not a happy camper and she owes me BIG!!! I am going to ask both Cathie and Vanessa for a disk of the photos they took, so I can use them for a layout. All I know is that if she doesn't do a good job in the delivery room taking photos I am going to murderize her! When we came home, I told Michael that Caela was fired as the photographer and they would have to change jobs, he would take photos and she would have the camcorder. Then he was trying to take photos of me with my Olympus and each photo ended up with a part of his finger in the picture somewhere. I fired him on the spot, and switched their jobs back to the original plan. I will just make sure that Caela uses my Canon instead of the Olympus and threaten to take away her cell phone for life if she screws up. LOL
As far as gifts, we received a BOATLOAD of clothes, mostly from 0-3 months. I'm not sure how she is going to wear all of them before she outgrows them, but we're going to give it a shot. She also got a jumper that will help her learn to walk, a humidifier for her room, some gift cards, burp clothes, a hand made teddy bear and glass vase with crepe paper flowers, a handmade quilt, a cute poncho, a car seat protector, and a monkey buddy. Everything was really cute and much needed, I can't wait to see her wear the clothes and use all of her other presents.
Here are some photos of the day.

Michael came around 4:00, he brought some gifts from his Grandma and relatives who weren't able to attend. He hung around for a little while, thanked everyone, and then took Isaac home.
In all, it was a really low key day, which was perfect, seeing as how half way through I wanted to take a nap on the sofa at the clubhouse.
Now that the shower is over and done, we just have to wait for her to make her appearance. Which I am hoping is sooner rather than later. lol

That is THEE cutest cake ever! Was it yummy, too? :)
Glad to hear the shower was fun and even if you have bad photographers, the photos you posted are good so not all is lost. :) You still have some time for training. :)
V. The cake was half white and half chocolate, so I had to taste test both of them. MMMM, cake!!! (said in my best Homer Simpson voice)
As for training the girl and M into taking decent photos. That has been an ongoing battle for years. I try to explain to them how to adjust for lighting, macro, candid shots, etc. etc. but I don't think they listen to me. All I can say, is at least DD doesn't get her fingers in the photos!! M. is just a lost cause with pocket cameras, his fingers are too boofy! lol
Too bad about the photos.....but having some is better than done,right...LOL...you look gorgeous in your photo.....thanks for sharing the pics and love the cake....so cute!!!
Hi Sis,
well you look very happy. And what cute gifts you have received. For what about the cloth size. If your little girl grows like Julia, she will fit in them for sure for a long period. Julia is still in size 56 (European size: about 1-2 months) and she is already 10 weeks! So don't worry.
I hope you will send me the birth announcement with her size and all (please translate to cm and grams, so I can do some baby shopping overhere).
Right now I am into sewing. Have sewn a cute pair of trousers for Julia and almost finished up a jeans (from corduroy) for her 2 yo cousin.
Hugs,
your Dutch Sis and Julia.
take care, the last part is always the heaviest.
