three times in the leg on Friday. She had her first series of vaccinations and she was not a happy camper. Friday night was pretty rough, her right leg was very swollen and she would scream her lungs out if you barely touched it. I spent the entire night holding her on my chest while we slept. I have found a new torture mechanism for the military to use. Make someone sleep in one position all night long, I guarantee, they will become sleep deprived within a day. I never realized until that night, how all of the different sleep positions we use every night, ensures a good night's rest. Thankfully, she is feeling much better now and we are both sleeping better at night.
The rest of her check up went well. She is now 22 inches long and weighs 10 lbs, 10 ozs. In two more months she gets to start eating baby cereal, I think she will start sitting up by then too. She is beginning to show signs of turning over, so we have to be extra careful when she is lying down on the bed.
That is about all that we did over the weekend, besides the usual house cleaning, grocery shopping stuff. I did make a turkey for dinner on Sunday, Caela called it my early birthday dinner, that I had to cook for myself. lol It was really good and the house smells like turkey now, so I am constantly hungry. I know what I will be eating for lunch today. :D

Poor Marissa. Glad she's doing better, and growing like a little weed. :) I hope the family treats you to a nicer and not cooked by you birthday dinner (but glad you're enjoying your turkey). btw- you're so funny with your birthday ticker on here. I just saw it. ;) What ARE your plans? I bet you'd love one day to just sleep.
POOR BABY!!! It's hard to watch the pain they endure, to be healthy.
Did you make grits to go with the Turkey, LOL!
Poor, poor Marisa. Julia lets her know she feels with her. She just did have her last vaccinations a month ago (see her moms blog).
And wow Marisa, way to go, you are very fast with turning over. Julia is still a bit lazy, although she is practising like crazy on turning from her back to her tummy. The other way around she managed by accident 4 times.
Question. Are you still breastfeeding? If so, you don't need to give babycereals or other stuff before 6 months (WHO regulations on breastfeeding), since breastmilk has it all.
groetjes en liefs (= greetings and love) Petra and Julia
