HOA's Stink & Test Results

I really, really, really, need to sell my house and move. When I first bought my house and found out that there was a home owner's association, I thought that can't be so bad. There won't be any houses with five million immobile cars parked in the driveway and such, I can live with that. Well, I was wrong, they are a complete PITA!! I hate them!! I received a letter in May that we needed to mow our lawn, Caela mowed it two days before, there was one tiny little spot where the grass was long and we got the stupid letter to fix it in 15 days, oh yeah, and we needed to water more because the lawn wasn't green enough! I get another in the mail today saying that we need to de-weed our lawn!!! WTH! There are five dandelion weeds in the entire lawn, and DD just cut it on Friday, so they aren't able to flower and spread their seeds! BUT!!! The entire outlot behind our house is full of weeds that the HOA is responsible for removing and not a single person has been out all summer long to spray the damn things. Not to mention, my dumbass neighbors use the cul-de-sac as their own personal parking lot, which is a fire hazard, and not a damn thing has been said to them! Suffice it to say, I was PO'd after I read the letter, Michael wanted to send hate mail to the HOA manager last time, but I talked him out of it. I think I will let him this time. It's just getting sooo ridiculous.

Alrighty, I've been wanting to vent about that all day long. Poor Caela has no clue what I am talking about, but she heard it anyway. I'm just hoping that Michael gets this job he interviewed for that is local, so we can determine our joint income and start looking more seriously.

On a different note, I got the results from the glucose tolerance test I took last week. My glucose level was 87%, anything under 145 is normal, so that was a relief. My CBC came back with everything normal, except for my iron level, it was a 34%, the normal range for this is 35-47, so it is just a little low, but I have to take iron supplements anyhow. Blech, now I have to squeeze that pill in between the three prenatal vitamins, the calcium, and the two flax seed oil pills I take on a daily basis. After consuming all of these pills, I am surprised that I still have room for food. LOL

Okay, I suppose I will stop bitching about things and move on to better things. Thanks for listening, or I guess that would be, thanks for reading.

Hugs on the troubles with the HOA.

Don't they sell applesyrup spread in the wholefoodstore? In the Netherlands it is a common spread for on your bread and it is very rich in Iron.
It looks dark and tastes sweet from the apples. (in dutch Appelstroop). Very yummy and healthy.

Hugs,Petra

AWE, so sorry I haven't been available for you to vent. Yep, M should send an ugly letter. Our subdivision has an association also, but they aren't nearly that demanding.

I'll try to catch up to you on IM.
Love ya!

HOA do suck! We don't even own our house.. we rent.. but it is part of an association.. luckily the lady that owns this house hates the HOA too! LOL

I was low on iron when pregnant with DS.. they wanted me to take those pills.. NOPE.. too big.. and I didn't feel like being CONSTIPATED! My body corrected itself by the time I gave birth.

I always gotta go against the grain though! LOL

note to yourself for your next purchase: avoid hoa! tell them to use your dues to better use than wasting paper with their unwarranted complaints. good luck with all of that.

glad to hear everything is going well with you and the wee one, with the exception of low iron- blech- i hate pills, too. although, strangly, i didn't have issues taking them until after jack was born- now i have this fear of choking and i'd die and he'd be home alone all day with harmful things until dj got home. ha. i know, i need therapy, but now i get chewables, so all is well, really. :)

I have a pretty little toy you could use to get it through to the HOA manager...Li posted pics of it somewhere...should do the trick...you'd get off being hormonal and pregnant! Sorry about the trouble with them. They can be a PITA.

Girl Your HOA sounds like a BIG PITA....I have one also but NEVER been thru anything like that!!! I know in the future if we ever do move I do not want A HOA...I mean shit if I want to paint the house I pay for red than I should be able to or hand clothes out to dry on the line....little shit like that with HOA gets me...I understand why they do it but it's scary ...do you know my HOA has enough power that if you stop paying your fees or behind they can take your home away...even if you kept up with your home payments...SCARY SHIT!!!!

I was suppose to do the iron pills with Tom as well....I did and then when he was born the kid was put on formula with no iron...go figure!!

Petra, I doubt WF would have that here, so nope it's not available. Apple syrup sounds kind of icky too, but thanks for the suggestion.

Pam, your slacking again. Get with it, don't you know you're supposed to be available to me at all times. LOL ;D

Li, you go against the grain?? That is something I never knew about you. heh heh! Allegedly, the Fe pills that they told me to get are slow release and tiny, so i shouldn't get backed up. Yeah Riiight!

Vanessa, my child, your imagination has been working over time lately, but I lol'd on the very dramatic visual you painted for us. I hate taking pills too, choking is not a personal favorite of mine either, but I endure them somehow. ;D

Liz, I am pretty sure I know what photo you are talking about. I think with the legal background I have I could come up with a pretty decent defense. Hmm, I must think seriously on this. lol

Rina, yep, there is a section in our hoa by-laws that mentions having a lien put against the home if dues aren't paid. I like being a bitch every year about those, we are supposed to have them paid by Jan 1, but I wait until I get my second hate mail from them and then send it in three days before the deadline of April 1. Heh Heh Heh! I don't understand why they would make Tom go on non Fe formula after he was out and about, that makes no sense whatsoever.
