I broke down and bought a maternity swimsuit that was on sale for our trip to Glenwood Springs in two weeks. Michael has training there for work, so he asked me if Caela and I wanted to tag along. Of course I said yes! This will be the closest to a vacation that I get this year. Well, according to Michael, there is a mineral springs swimming pool across the street from the hotel. I am sure that I won't be able to sit in the pool because of the temperature, but I can dangle my feet into the water, hence, the need for a swimsuit. I tried it on when it arrived and I think I look like a tick that's ready to pop! LOL. Michael said I looked fine, but I am starting to question his judgement about things. Not sure what else there is to do there, just hoping that fun places are within decent walking distance.
We went to LaSalle on Saturday, just to get out and about. The city was having a small festival over the weekend, so we walked around that for a bit and then followed a helicopter that was landing. Lo and behold, there was a mud volleyball game going on so we decided to watch it. The announcer is a man from Greeley that performs Elvis Presley songs on occassion for the public. He dresses up like him and actually does resemble him from a distance. (the late 70's, chunky version of Elvis) Anyhoo, he was commentating at the volleyball games, and was saying the funniest things ever about the players. It was hilarious listening to him mock the poor people out in the mud. We stayed for about an hour and then I begged and begged Michael for a Grape Artic Ice from Dairy Queen! Okay, I didn't have to beg, I am exaggerating, I just had to ask once and my wish was his command. lol
That is about all that happened over the weekend. Well, except for the dachsies going ballistic over the chirping smoke detectors. I thought one was going out, which causes the rest of them to chirp. We spent over an hour trying to figure out which one was ready to croak. It ended up being a dead battery and the chirping stopped as soon as we changed all of them. Dumb things!
I started a new layout, which will probably take me a million years to finish. I have developed the attention span of a knat in the last few weeks, and I haven't been able to concentrate on one single thing for very long. If/When I get it done I will post it to my scrap blog for all to view.
