She had to have a follow up appointment today with her Pediatrician. Her blood levels dropped a few minutes after she was born, so the nurses took Michael into the nursery to give her supplemental formula to see if that would bring her levels back up. Thankfully, it worked and the next three tests also showed that the levels were rising once again. We have to continue supplementing her feedings until she gets back up to her birth weight. She weighed 5 lbs 8 oz. on Monday and at today's appointment she weighed in at 6 lbs again.
We are going to a lactation consultant this week to have her weighed and to discuss how long it will take to get her off the supplementation. I am hoping soon, so I can concentrate more on nursing her.
She also has a very mild case of jaundice. The Ped., thinks that this is the result of her blood type trying to remove my blood type from her body. He said that the level she has is not super serious, but we are going to watch it all the same.
Otherwise, she is doing super for being three weeks early. So far she has been a very good baby. She laughed today for the first time when I was trying to get her to snack on my rack. It was the most awesome sound/sight I have seen in such a very long time.
Thanks to all the well wishes from everyone. I never thought this day would ever come and I cannot express how happy I am right at this moment. The no sleep, hurty boobs, and whacked out hormones are so worth it.
I've taken more photos of her to share, and will do that when I am able to insert them into a slide show.

I was so happy to see an update today. :) Glad to hear she's doing better -and laughing already? a very happy baby at that. :) Looking forward to seeing more pictures.
Looking forward to see more pics of her! She is so pretty, and when I looked at the pictures you have placed before I noticed she is a mini-you. She looks so much like you.
Julia wears finally the beautiful cloths you had send to me, they are still a bit long, but she grows into them.
Right now she weights 12.9 pounds and is 22.8" tall. She had her second set of vaccinations last wednesday.
I am going to update my blog today, so you will see more recent pics of your Dutch niece.

I went to the PO yesterday morning. Don't ya know it was closed for COLUMBUS DAY!!!! It IS going out today. Can't wait for you to get it. It took a little longer than I wanted, but there was something so tweet, that I had to duplicate it. LOL!
