One Week Old

Her first week of life has pretty much consisted of being poked and prodded all over from her pediatrician and the nurses. She went back twice last week to get blood drawn to determine her jaundice levels. As of Thursday it was 14.2, which is below the 18 that is considered dangerous, so we just need to keep an eye on her to make sure she doesn't get worse.

Michael and I have concluded that we are old and need sleep. lol. It's been a huge adjustment waking up every two hours, but we've managed pretty well. I think there was only one day last week that I wanted to severely harm him for walking into the room a bit too cheerful for my taste. ha ha.

Marisa has been doing well adjusting to life on the outside. She's a really good baby, she only cries when she is hungry. There have been a few times when her DIVA attitude has kicked in and she screams her head off, but not often.

Here is a slide show of her first week, hope you all enjoy. There aren't too many photos since no one in this house besides me knows how to use my equipment, and it's hard to take a photo with a small person attached to your booby all the time. But I will make sure to take as many as possible when she's off.

Enjoy.

She is such a lovely baby. I hope you are resting as much as possible and that you are as happy as you look in the photos! Take care.

what precious, precious photos. She is just darling. Glad to hear her J levels are better. So no light treatment?

Wheelie is so cute, too. How are all the critters adjusting to the new little strange "creature" in their world?

O Anita, she is so pretty! And wowser, you might feel OLD, but you look so YOUNG! And hey, I thought you told me I was OLD. whaha.. just wait 3 more months and she will sleep during the night, so you feel better too. Hope she doesn't get any cramps, like Julia did get her first 2 months. Right now our little stinker has eczema (?sp).

Tell her Daddy, that he did do a great job, getting the right genes towards Marissa. Since she is gorgeous!

Hugs,
Petra

ps. at my blog I have updated pics of Julia. Will post some more today(she wears that cute little romper with butterflies you send to me)

ps2. make sure you get rest! Let the big sis do a little bit more around the house, you are still in your "kraambed" (dutch word, for the first 10 days after giving birth).
