The Renter Has Been Evicted!!

I repeat the renter has been evicted!

Yep, I gave birth to our girl on Sunday October 5, 2008 at 2.41 a.m.

Say hello to Marisa Alanis, she weighed 6 lbs., 3.5 ozs. and is 18.5 in. long.

We went to the hospital on Saturday around 8 a.m. because my water was leaking and I was bleeding, since I've never had the bleeding before I was concerned so we went in and got checked out. The resident Dr. in the triage center said that my cervix was not dilated and it was probably just the beginnings of pre-labor. Hence, I could give birth in days or weeks. So we go have lunch and then I rested for the remainder of the day. I was having contractions but they were sporadic and not really intense.

Fast forward to 12:30 a.m. Sunday morning, I wake up to do my usual pee break and as I am crawling out of bed, I get that just peed my pants feeling. I figured it's just more of what happened Saturday so I go about my usual, lay back down and about 15 minutes later, I realize that the contractions are 5 minutes apart and getting more intense. I wake the girl up and have her call Michael. When he finally arrives about 10-15 minutes later, the contractions are now three minutes apart. It takes us 15 minutes to get to the hospital again and by now they are about two minutes apart. We are in triage again for 10-15 minutes waiting for the resident Dr. to come and check for dilation again and lo and behold I am 98% effaced and dilated to 10. Five minutes later they are hauling my butt into the Labor and Delivery room and about five minutes after that I am pushing her out!

Suffice it to say, that is the fastest birth I have ever had and it was one of the fastest that the Dr and nurses have ever experienced. There was no time for drugs, no time to insert an I.V. and barely enough time for Caela to make it into the room from the waiting room 20 feet away.

We're all well, we got to come home today. The dachsies are kind of freaking out, but I am sure they will chill out in a few days.

Oh yeah, and it looks like Pam won the RAK with her guess of the 12th.
