18 Week Appt. and More Crappy Weather...

We had our appointment yesterday and all is well. The babies heart rate was 150 and I weighed in at 117.6. So far I have gained 5 lbs, but it feels like 15. I asked my Dr. if that was a normal gain and he said yes, that I wouldn't be one to gain 50 lbs, 20-30 lbs tops is what he says is a good gain for me. It was a relief to hear the heartbeat again and I have had stronger movements in the last week and a half. He/She is definitely letting me know that they are present. A couple of times, the kicks catch me off gaurd and I jump as though someone just poked me. The morning sickness has completely left, my aversion to smells has decreased and now I feel like I am perpetually starving. I have been craving Chinese food, Krautburgers, and sweets. So I will have to get my fix sometime soon.

We go back in three weeks for the big 20 week ultrasound, this is when, hopefully, we will be able to see if my renter is a boy or a girl. Michael's Dad has already placed his request for a boy, so if it's a girl, then he will have to blame Michael and his chromosomes. As for me, I have the girl and the boys, so either one is fine with me. Michael is kind of hoping for a boy, but as I said before, he is just afraid of raising a girl. ;D

As far as the weather, we were under another tornado warning yesterday. There was a waterspout tornado northeast of Gilcrest and funnel clouds in Kersey. Both these towns are north east of Evans. Michael and I drove through parts of Windsor to look at some of the damage. Most of the town is blocked off by the National Gaurd, but what we did see was bad enough. I had my camera, but didin't feel like it was right to take photos, so I didn't. We went out to his Grandparents house in Gilcrest also, to check up on them. According to the weather stations, we should be in the clear of any other major storms until mid week, then I am sure it will start all over again.

For those of you that are interested in seeing the damage in Windsor, you can see this slideshow from our local newspaper.

Hi Zusje,
glad that the baby is alive and kicking. He/she will kick you more and at the most craziest times, like when you want to go to sleep.
I can't wait to find out whether your tennant is a girl or a boy.
Over here I can say I am staying at home from school. One more week until my official maternity leave starts. I will go back to school at Januar 6th 2009. So that is a half year. Right now I am just counting the days / weeks until deliverytime.
My breasts hurts like hell once again (especially my nipples), like in my begin period of the pregnancy, so I guess they are preparing themselves for the breastfeading. Tomorow we have our 2 week appointment with the midwife, so we will hear our little girls heart again.
I will put on some pics of the nursery on my blog tomorow. Did you see the pics of me and my whale like belly?

Hugs and greetings,
Petra

I am glad all is well with you and the baby and that you didn't blow away ToTo would have been very scared!

If I catch that damn fairy, I will send her to you because I have literally done 2-3 loads a night since the washer and dryer became operational and more than I care to count over this three day 'HOLIDAY' weekend...But I posted pics of the house before we started and the floors when we finished them...

Good luck with the 'renter' and keep us posted with belly pics as you grow!

YIKES! I hardly ever watch the news, so I had no idea of what was going on in your neck of the woods. I am so relieved you and your loved ones are okay.

So happy to hear things are going well with the little one. :)
